What cookies we use on atomicparts.ie, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
Basics
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences - such as items in your cart or your selected BMW vehicle - so you don't have to re-enter them each time you visit.
Some cookies are set directly by atomicparts.ie (first-party cookies). Others are set by third-party services we use, such as Google Analytics or the Facebook Pixel (third-party cookies). Both types are covered in this policy.
ℹ️
A cookie consent banner is shown on your first visit. Analytics and marketing cookies are only activated after you give consent. You can change your preferences at any time.
Usage
Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies to:
Keep you logged in and maintain your shopping cart
Remember your selected BMW vehicle across pages
Protect the site against fraud and abuse
Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it
Measure the performance of our advertising campaigns
Show relevant ads to people who have visited our site
Categories
Cookie Categories
The cookies on atomicparts.ie fall into four categories:
🔒
Strictly Necessary Always active
Essential for the website to function. These include your session cookie (keeps you logged in), cart cookie (remembers your basket) and security cookies (CSRF protection). These cannot be disabled - without them the site cannot operate correctly.
⚙️
Functional Requires consent
Enhance your experience by remembering choices you've made. For example, your selected BMW series and model are stored so the vehicle selector pre-fills on return visits. No personal data is shared with third parties through these cookies. You can disable these without affecting core site functionality.
📊
Analytics Requires consent
Collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site - which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and where traffic comes from. This helps us identify issues and improve the site. No personally identifiable information is stored in these cookies.
📣
Marketing Requires consent
Used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show relevant ads to people who have previously visited atomicparts.ie (remarketing). These cookies track visits and actions across websites. They are only set after you give explicit consent.
Third-Party Tools
Third-Party Tools We Use
The following third-party services place cookies or similar tracking technologies on our site. All marketing and analytics tools are governed by your consent preferences.
📦
Google Tag Manager
Tag management · Functional
Manages and deploys all tracking scripts on our site. GTM itself does not collect personal data - it controls which other tags fire based on your consent choices. Without GTM, no third-party analytics or marketing tags would load.
Collects anonymised usage data - pages visited, device type, traffic source and session duration. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. Data is processed on Google's servers. Only active after you give consent.
Tracks visits and actions on our site (product views, add to cart, purchases) to measure Facebook and Instagram ad performance and enable remarketing to relevant audiences. Data is sent to Meta Platforms, Inc. Only active with your consent.
Tracks visits and conversions to measure TikTok ad performance and build remarketing audiences. Data is sent to TikTok Technology Ltd (ByteDance). Only active with your consent.
First-party cookies are set directly under the atomicparts.ie domain. They include your session, cart and vehicle preference cookies. These are controlled entirely by us.
Third-party cookies are set under the domain of an external provider - for example, a cookie set under facebook.com or google.com while you visit our site. These are governed by the respective provider's privacy policy. We only allow third-party cookies from providers listed in this policy, and only when you have given consent.
